INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION
OF
AUDIO INFORMATION SERVICES
2009
Public Awareness Award
Objective:
To recognize achievement in the planning and implementation of public relations
or other projects designed to promote your organization to the public.
Background: All
audio information services have need of optimum public awareness. Without
general community awareness of the service’s availability to
print-disabled people and the need for community support, the service will be
less effective than it could be. The Public Awareness Award encourages
individual audio information services to increase public exposure so as to
facilitate audience growth, more effective volunteer recruitment, and increased
financial support within the community.
The Public Awareness Award is designed to recognize
leadership and accomplishment in this important area of audio service outreach.
It is hoped that other services will benefit from becoming aware of the
experience gained and the successes of award winning projects.
Submissions for the Public Awareness Award must
include three sets of the promotional materials used in the project. Materials
may be printed, recorded, photographic, or brailled.
