C. Stanley Potter Lifetime Achievement Award

The C. Stanley Potter Award is the highest award bestowed by IAAIS. It is not presented lightly. It is not necessarily awarded at all. Nominations should be made in that spirit. Judging in this category is done by a committee of IAAIS Board Members appointed by the Awards Committee.

Objective: To honor outstanding contributions to the audio information industry as a whole by an individual, group or organization.

Background:  This award brings a new level of distinction and visibility to leaders in the audio information industry.  It is the highest award to honor individuals, groups or organizations for the exemplary quality of their work in furthering the mission of IAAIS and their contribution to the field of information access for disabled people.  This award is presented to those who have demonstrated a deep commitment to innovative initiatives that not only empower audio information services, but also advance the industry and ultimately benefit people who need access to information in audio format.

In giving out this award, IAAIS (which is you the members and your Board) confirms that leaders are bringing positive changes to the audio information field.  Through the stories of these leaders we will be inspired to further our commitment to advance the mission of information access and individual independence in the world.

Criteria:  We must think out of the box in nominating an individual or organization for this award as they have thought out of the box in creating  innovations for furthering audio information.  This award is not about how long one has been in this industry but what an individual or organization has contributed to its growth, success, empowerment, technological advancement, and programming creativity.

Nominations: Nominees need not be members of IAAIS or part of an IAAIS member station.
